  6. Burning Road is a racing game like Ridge Racer on steriods.
  7. It has five views (3 external, 2 internal) you can cycle
  8. by using the L1,L2 buttons, three tracks, five (??) cars 
  9. to choose from, and the usual racing options (sound volume, 
  10. etc).  It's much more fun, however, because of its originality 
  11. and awesome stuff you can do, plus its variety of special 
  12. effects (rain, snow, icy roads).  And the tracks look more 
  13. like a street-race than an actual car racing track.

  15. The menus are ALL in english (thanks guys), intuitive and
  16. easy to get around, plus you can link up with another
  17. Playstation for head-to-head action (no split screen)

  20. What makes Burning Road unique:
  21.  
  22. 1. Obstacles in road (trashcans, cones, etc)
  23. 2. High jumping (6-14 feet jumps)
  24. 3. Rain and ice weather conditions (very cool)
  25. 4. Slick and icy roads (caused by the above)
  26. 5. Keychain hanging from rearview mirror that 
  27. sways appropriately while driving (awesome idea!)
  28. 6. Cars sustain permanent damage (for duration of race)
  29. 7. VERY GOOD physics model
  30. 8. Unique vehicles (racecars, offroad 4x4, drag cars)
  31. 9. A replay once you're done that's basically a mini-movie 
  32. of your race (awesome idea!!) with different camera 
  33. angles showing your car/truck, along with some great music.

  38. About Ridge Racer quality.
  39. The scenery, popup, and roads are average, no great
  40. Wipeout-looking, flashy graphics, BUT this game is
  41. like Twisted Metal-> Graphics are ok, but the fun
  42. factor makes up for lacking graphic quality.

  44. The feel of hauling ass down a road is DEFINITELY
  45. there, and the rocking soundtrack keeps you in the
  46. racing mood.  You still have popup (about the same
  47. as RR), but you'll never notice it.

  52. Definitely a 10 - car sounds different when going through
  53. a tunnel, sliding, even when you're close to another car!
  54. Skidding effects while you slide sideways down a icy
  55. road, mashing and crunching when you slam a car into the
  56. railing on the bridge - all make for some serious mood
  57. alterations.  You'll quickly find yourself cussing at
  58. other drivers.
  59. You also hear a homer simpson (with a texas accent)
  60. WaaaAHOOOO! when doing a large jump.

  64. A rocking soundtrack - very well put together (could
  65. use more selections, though)

  72. They are consistently in the same places, so once you 
  73. learn where they are, you can ram other vehicles into 
  74. them!

  78. You will definitely slam into the dirt roads and
  79. concrete at the end of these jumps.  But, they do
  80. make for opportunities to ram other vehicles.

  84. Advanced track has some ice and snow, and expert
  85. contains rain and slick roadways.  You will BIGTIME
  86. slide when you hit the ice, so I've found it best to
  87. choose a car with little more grip.

  91. This is my favorite feature.  If you ram yourself (or get
  92. rammed ;-) into a wall, your wheel on that side starts to
  93. wobble a little.  If you do it again, it wobbles more...
  94. So after enough crashes, your car is VERY slow, and when
  95. using the "inside the car" view, it's REAL WOBBLY.

  97. The beauty here is obvious - BASH THE OTHER FAST CARS.
  98. And they quickly fall behind.  You can also ram them into
  99. the on-road obstacles, light posts, bridges, etc.

  101. 7. VERY GOOD physics model

  103. The sliding, corner handling and ill effects of getting
  104. rammed are very good.

  106. 8. Unique vehicles (racecars, offroad 4x4, drag cars)

  108. Your cars have a top speed and road-grip.  Racecars have
  109. very little grip, while 4x4s have lots of grip, but a lower
  110. top speed.  Take your pick.

  114. angles showing your car/truck, along with some great music.

  116. This is VERY cool.  It's like the game formatted a demo
  117. tape out of your actual race.  The camera swings in front, 
  118. to the side, above, behind, and even gives a race-by view
  119. of you whizzing past.

  124. Lots of fun.  If you don't mind the graphics being Ridge
  125. Racer (first gen game...) quality, you'll love it.

  130. If you're a racing fan, you'll love this game.  Yet another
  131. racer??  Yeah, probably, but HOURS of entertainment ramming
  132. the other cars into stuff.  If you can spare the high
  133. import price, and need another good racing game to add to
  134. the collection, I'd recommend picking this up.
  135. However, if you already have Motor Toon 2, and Drift King, 
  136. you might wanna skip it.
